What is the difference between an Ezyline home and a tiny home/pod home?

Tiny/pod homes are typically much smaller in size. They are typically constructed of panels of various types including polystyrene and metal skin panels. They have a distinct shipping container look to them. Ezyline homes start at 50m² and are more traditional in their design.

What is the difference between a kitset, transportable, modular, and prefab home?

Modular, transportable, kitset and prefabricated homes are often perceived as being the same, but they each have distinct differences and unique benefits.

There are several factors to consider before deciding which option is best for you including accessibility to your site, your timeline and budget.

Click here to check out our recent blog where we break down the differences you need to know when considering a kitset, transportable, modular, or prefab home.

How does a prefab/prebuilt or modular home differ from a traditionally constructed home that is built onsite?

Prefab/prebuilt or modular homes differ from traditionally constructed homes because they are constructed in an offsite manufacturing facility and then transported to your site either fully assembled, in sections or modules, or as a kit so that it is then assembled on your site.

Depending on the type of prefab/prebuilt or modular homes you chose, many of the same materials are used in construction of the home as one built onsite.

Prefab/prebuilt or modular homes often have a timber floor construction. Traditionally constructed homes are built onsite from the ground up and often with a concrete foundation and concrete floor slab.

Find out more about the various prefabricated construction methods in our recent blog.

Can you build your homes on a concrete floor?

No sorry, our homes are designed to be transported by truck and set on a timber pile foundation.

How do you get a Water supply connected to the unit?

Your plumber will be able to connect your home with the connections under the house.

Do I need to arrange my own site services (septic/power/water)?

Yes. These are part of the work you do to get your site consent. We can refer you to one of our trusted and recommended trade partners

Hear what our customers have to say about working with Ezyline

“Any variation to the original plans was easily catered for and the associated cost has been very reasonable.”

“We both are very happy with our Ezyline Home experience. Any variation to the original plans was easily catered for and the associated cost has been very reasonable.

We especially appreciated the small things like the tiling done to match the width of the Range Hood and the fact that a flaw was noticed in the carpet before it was laid. Best wishes to both you and Rachel for your professional and personal approach.”

Ian and Nicky Trethewey

“Ezyline Homes are simply the best value farm housing we have found”

“We have purchased 5 Ezyline homes now and will be ordering a sixth home shortly, that probably sums up how impressed we are with the quality, value and service we receive from Pam and Wallace. We have definitely noticed that they hold up to the rigours of being tenanted by farm staff better than other kitset housing we have on the farm.

Pam and Wallace have guided us through the process of putting each house on the farm and have accommodated any changes required as well as meeting what have sometimes been tight timeframes. We are very happy to continue with Ezyline Homes, they are simply the best value farm housing we have found.”

Kim and Sarah Caldwell

“A lovely warm, cosy home to live in, I am very happy.”

“It is a year since I paid a deposit on my 2 bedroom cottage (60m2). I have gardens, paths, patio etc all complete. A lovely warm, cosy home to live in, I am very happy. My son and daughter moved into the main house in October 2018, so we are all settled. Once again thank you for making my life happy and relaxed.”

Jane R, Te Puke

“Just want to thank you ALL for such an amazing job on our new house.”

“We couldn’t be more thankful for the fantastic job you all have done and the totally smooth process from the beginning to end, we were not once disappointed. The quality is well above expectation. Thank you very much we really appreciate it. Enjoy your drinks!”

Nigel, Gallene and all the Bennetts family

“Your service was kind and professional from start to finish”

“Our decision to choose Ezyline was purely due to the customer service that we received very early in the piece from Rachel and Paul. No other transportable home company that we engaged with offered this.

Your service was kind and professional from start to finish. It included awesome communication which left us with no unwanted surprises. Rachel’s interior design consultancy was incredibly helpful and Paul’s calm knowledgeable help with logistics and planning made us feel like nothing was a problem.”
